Gemma brings over 17 years of experience in fundraising, communications, and stakeholder engagement to Philanthropy Company. She has worked for charities, social enterprise and in the higher education sector.

Gemma has a breadth of fundraising and sector knowledge, with a successful track record across trusts and foundations; event fundraising; tender pitches and contract negotiation; major gift cultivation, solicitation and stewardship; and legacy fundraising. In fundraising for projects, core costs and capital appeals. She also has experience in developing compelling communications strategies and materials that achieve increased engagement and deepen supporter and community relationships.

She joined Philanthropy Company in November 2022 having worked on major gifts, a £25m capital appeal, and alumni engagement and stewardship for Mansfield College, Oxford, for nine years. Most recently Gemma developed the College’s first alumni relations and engagement strategy to effectively mobilise the global alumni community; and coordinated national and international events including for high profile alumni and speakers.  Prior to this she worked for a small education charity in Suffolk. Gemma started her career at disability charity and social enterprise Voiceability where she helped develop a new organisational strategy and achieved significant growth in income and outcomes achieved for its beneficiaries. Gemma has experience of working within larger organisations and for grassroots charities as a sole fundraiser.
