Flora Craig

flora craig philanthropy company

Flora joins Philanthropy Company as a Director to lead our work with charities bringing her extraordinary knowledge of the sector from working with the Garfield Weston Foundation. In recent years the Foundation has become one of Britain’s most important funders making grants and social investments of over £140 million.

Flora brings a deep knowledge of the philanthropic and grant-making sector. Working in the sector for over 20 years she has worked at Garfield Weston Foundation for the last decade. She has a deep understanding of the challenges charities face from her work in all aspects of grant-making from small local community grants to large multi-million pound grants to some of the UK’s largest charities. As Deputy Director, she worked closely with the Trustees providing leadership and oversight to the Foundation’s grant-making and had responsibility for the Major Grants programme of grants of over £100,000. Flora also led on the development and delivery of the £30 million Weston Culture Fund and on special funding programmes like the Weston Loan Programme with Art Fund.

Prior to grant-making worked in leadership roles in arts organisations, managing capital projects and providing fundraising consultancy and management advice to a range of charities. She has an MA in History of Art from Edinburgh University and is proud to be a volunteer with the Cranfield Trust and a Trustee of the Mary Rose Trust.
