New Funding Opportunities for Moss Side Millennium Powerhouse

Challenge

A registered charity, Moss Side Millennium Powerhouse (MSM) was built and opened in 2000 by Manchester City Council and quickly became a leading youth work provider in the City. With its core funding due to end, the charity needed to secure sustainable financial support for its in-house youth work. The goal was to diversify income streams and develop a strategy for securing trust and foundation funding, as well as corporate support. With a new three-year business plan in development, MSM aimed to ensure its youth work continued to thrive and grow in a financially resilient way.

Response

We worked closely with MSM to create a tailored strategy focused on securing funding for the continuation of their in-house youth services. We researched similar local organisations to consider funding potential, identified new prospects, and provided guidance on developing corporate partnerships.

Impact

  • Produced a mini case for support, with detailed guidance on the actions required for development of the full document.
  • Delivered a targeted list of 14 trust and foundation prospects.
  • Developed a three-year roadmap to build corporate support.
