Russell draws on his extensive experience of leading and delivering high-profile, transformational fundraising campaigns to help Philanthropy Company’s clients achieve their ambitions.

He brings over 25 years of experience as a fundraising director within some of the UK’s best-loved organisations such as Cancer Research UK (CR-UK), Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), UNICEF UK, NSPCC and more recently The Courtauld Institute of Art and Birkbeck, University of London. He is the former Chief Executive of the London Community Foundation, and is now leading the development and implementation of an £80m campaign for a new cancer centre at the Royal Free London in Hampstead. Over the years, Russell has led and delivered several major philanthropic campaigns including a £100m campaign for CR-UK to fund the construction of the Frances Crick Institute at St Pancras, London, in addition to a partnership campaign with CR-UK, the University of Manchester and Christie Hospital to create the Manchester Cancer Research Centre.
