Benefact Group: Getting more funding to Churches during the pandemic

Challenge

When Covid 19 hit and lockdown began, churches across the UK found themselves unable to raise funds as they had previously been able to. This was an unprecedented time for churches and communities. Although there was some support available for churches, it was not easy to navigate – including identification of grants that were available for churches to support their work through the pandemic.

Response

Philanthropy Company worked alongside Ecclesiastical to provide content for an online fundraising hub where churches could access expert advice, tips, guidance and support to continue to raise much needed funds, despite churches being shut. Philanthropy Company also created an easily accessible database of all the available grants, both local and nationwide, available to churches to apply for funding during the pandemic, as well as participating in a number of live webinars offering advice and guidance.
