Louise Parkin

Louise has over 25 years experience in fundraising and philanthropy in the UK, New Zealand and Australia and has worked with over 800 clients worldwide.

She began her fundraising career as a prospect researcher in London and founded Saints Information, Asia-Pacific’s largest fundraising research agency after a return to New Zealand. After 12 years, she switched her capacity-building efforts for the NZ Not-For-Profit Sector to recruitment when she established a division of London-based Execucare to fill a gap in the market and assist charities finding top talent for their fundraising teams.  Her outstanding contribution to the profession saw her recognised as a Fellow of the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand.

Following this long stint in self-employment, Louise joined the Nikau Foundation, Wellington’s community foundation, as their Executive Director overseeing growth in the organisation from £2m to £25m when she left to return to the UK in 2019.  During this time she graduated top of the class from QUT with a Graduate Certificate in Philanthropy and Non-Profit Studies, an MBA equivalent qualification in charity management.  She also holds a BA from the University of Canterbury and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Librarianship and Information Management from Victoria University of Wellington.

Louise particularly enjoys assisting generous donors with realising their values through big philanthropy and is proud to be part of the Philanthropy Company’s team.
