Liz Purchase

Senior Consultant, Arts & Heritage

Liz has extensive fundraising and development experience in the arts, heritage and culture sectors, having worked closely with the development and senior management teams of national organisations including English Heritage, Historic England, the Royal Academy of Arts, and the National Churches Trust. She has supported several high profile multi-million pound capital projects, and secured six and seven figure grants from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (formerly HLF), Arts Council England and private charitable trusts, for historic castles, abbeys, historic royal homes and gardens, important industrial heritage and famous ancient monuments. Her skill in developing cases for support has helped to secure significant funding for core programmes and projects; she has also managed successful appeals for heritage assets, historic churches, and increased income from individual donors and friends’ groups.

Liz is passionate about working closely with charities and non-profit organisations on their fundraising strategy, from crucial early planning stages, to the delivery of outstanding projects, helping them secure vital funding.  Extensive experience with national funding bodies like the National Lottery Heritage Fund means she has an excellent understanding of how to articulate vision, meet outcomes, plan for sustainability and ensure a bid is competitive. Liz is skilled in both internal and external stakeholder management, relationship building and maintaining the momentum of a major bid.
