James’s long standing commitment to charity and philanthropy stems from a desire to make sure that charities have the support to deliver their best work with donors who are active, engaged and an important part of creating impact. James joined Philanthropy Company in 2020 as Client Advisor bringing 15 years experience in direct fundraising, communications and charity management.

Before joining Philanthropy Company James was Chief Executive for a Hampshire based neuro-rehabilitation charity, the Rainbow Centre. He started his career working for The Forest Trust, a conservation and supply chain development Non Profit in Switzerland, where he was successful in raising 6 figure multi-year funding and managed a variety of donor partnerships and communications projects. James spent the next 7 years working with small to medium sized charitable organisations as a consultant and hands-on fundraiser providing interim support and management across corporate, trust, event and High Value Donor income streams as well as providing guidance and advice on communications and fundraising development.

Having worked with a range of organisations, partners and donors including the RSPCA, Carers UK, Coutts Bank and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity fulfilling diverse project briefs, he brings a breadth of knowledge as an all-round fundraiser and advisor.
