Nicola Hewitt has over 20 years experience with large and small organisations in the voluntary sector, starting at Save the Children in Corporate Fundraising, and latterly with UN Women as interim Head of Development. She is a highly experienced fundraising and communications professional, with an excellent strategic approach using strong analytical skills.
At Save the Children Nicola specialised in multi company, large scale fundraising campaigns, and moved onto recruiting a Development Board for soliciting major gifts at NCH Action for Children for their anniversary appeal.
Nicola then diversified into communications and brand management completing over 10 years at Macmillan Cancer Support where she managed a major project to change the name of the organisation and all of its branding, finishing there as Director of Communications.
As a consultant to a number of NGOs Nicola brings experience of most fundraising techniques particularly corporate, sponsorship, events, development boards and managing volunteers. Her experience of successful brand management, advertising campaigns and web development, is also a benefit to her strategic fundraising advice .
Nicola works hard to understand your organisation (values/beliefs/culture) in order to suggest effective and pragmatic solutions, and is also willing to roll up her sleeves to do hands on fundraising.
Nicola holds a number of volunteer roles, is a keen netball player and traveller.
